Erling Haaland Breaks Premier League Scoring Record as Manchester City Go Top

Impressive Performance

Manchester City returned to the top of the Premier League table after an impressive 3-0 victory over West Ham United at the London Stadium. The match was also notable for Erling Haaland, who broke the Premier League record for goals in a season.

Haaland's Record-Breaking Goals

The Norwegian striker, who joined City from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, scored twice against West Ham to take his tally for the season to 27 goals. This breaks the previous record of 26 goals, set by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer in 1993-94 and 1994-95 respectively.

Haaland's goals came in the 36th and 62nd minutes, with Phil Foden adding a third in the 90th minute to seal the victory for City.

The win takes City top of the table, one point ahead of Arsenal who have a game in hand.
